Drawing assignment
We are going to become familiar with the loose but
accurate style of an Italian artist know as Canaletto.
The object is to develop a line that is loose and relaxed yet
accurate and descriptive.

The task is to copy the above image to 80% the size of
your drawing board and use a sharp 2b pencil to emulate
the style of a Canaletto study
The painting is the primary reference but the style sought
after here is is that of Canaletto’s freehand sketch work
style reference left and on the following pages
